What personal data do I collect?
I only collect personal data which is necessary to work on your project. This includes your name, email address, address (for invoicing) and phone number. This will include any information you may provide in your email signature. I will also collect any information that you provide about the project, including the files you send me to work on.
How do I store your personal data and for how long?
Personal data is stored in my emails, which is password-protected. Files I am working on are stored on my password-protected laptop. No one else will have access to these files in any way, without your written permission. If I need to consult with a colleague (for example for specialist pieces of writing), they will only have access to the particular excerpt, not the full text, and nor will they have access to your personal data. Invoices are also stored on my laptop. Due to HMRC requirements, invoices and any data included on them will be kept for at least six years. I will discuss with clients on a case-by-case basis how long to keep their files for, as this will depend on the purpose of your project. For example, you may ask me to keep your project files until after a deadline passed, or you may prefer me to delete these as soon as I have completed your project.
How do I use your personal data?
I only use your personal data to contact you about your project or to reply your enquiry, and invoicing/HMRC requirements. I will not share your personal data with anyone else, unless I have your written permission to do so.
